                  great, he's THE CUTEXT puppy i've ever seen in my life, i went to petco with him 
                  last night only a few blocks away it should've only taken 15 minutes but people 
                  were stopping me so much that it took almost an hour, my boyfriend can't keep 
                  his hands off of Bobby they're already best friends they're always playing 
                  around i know its silly to say this but i feel left out and a little jealous 
                  because he seems to be happier when my boyfriend's around. My boyfriend and i 
                  don't live together but i spend most of my time at his place even when he's not 
                  here. Im going to boston next weekend to see my family i want to take Bobby with 
                  me but my boyfriend loves him so much that he's begging me to leave Bobby with 
                  him and now i don't know what to do i feel so bad mind you a few days before i 
                  got Bobby he had made it crystal clear that he wouldn't stay with Bobby for me 
                  because he's too busy with work but now that Bobby's here he's acting like he 
                  belongs to him he spends his whole time kissing him and playing with him like 
                  Bobby was a real baby is this normal? One another thing that bothers me is the 
                  fact he wants to bathe Bobby and use his own expensive shower gel thats not like 
                  him to let me even use his stuff unless its an emergency and im scared because i 
                  don't want it to mess up Bobby's skin please let me know if its safe to do so 
                  and also he wants to use his own toothpaste to brush Bobby's teeth.

Country of Origin: England.

Size: Shoulder height: Weight is: 2 - 3 kg (4.5 - 6.5 lbs).

Coat: Consists of very long, silky hair. The color is golden-brown wtih steel-grey.

Character: Yorkshire Terriers become very attached to their families. They are lively, intelligent and bark when they sense danger.

Temperament: This dog is tolerant of children, provided that they respect its territory. It can be a bit too brave occasionally when dealing with larger dogs but gets along fine with cats and other household pets.

Care: Intensive brushing and combing of the coat is required on a daily basis. If this is too time-consuming, the coat should be trimmed professionally. The hair is kept out of the eyes by a rubber band or a bow. The ears must be checked and loose hairs must be removed from ear passages.

Training: If training is consistent, this breed will learn quickly.

Activity: The exercise needs of this dog are uncomplicated. It will adapt itself to the activity level of your family.

The Yorkshire Terrier is one of the most delightful breeds to own, and it isn't unusual for people to have two. It seems that one is not enough, the woman of the house wants a small lap dog, and who ends up with the dog at his side, the better half. So the "his" and "her" sweaters are back in style by way of the Yorkshire Terrier.

They are wonderful for the person lacking space to the person needing help in the garden. But as in all breeds of dogs, they're as individual as can be. They can be wonderful with children, but that depends on many factors. The Lineage can affect the disposition of an animal in general, but there are many other factors to consider. Is it a Pup that was raised in a home environment or in a Kennel situation? Was the Pup exposed to children or raised with strictly adults? Is this a Pup that will be a small three pound Female, or a 6-7 pound robust dog full of energy (my favorite). Then there's the question about the children. Some children have been raised to respect animals and treat them properly. They can touch an animal as softly as a feather, and the dog is very receptive knowing it is in no harm. On the other hand an abrasive child should not be allowed to handle a dog, or other animals, until it has the ability to respect life. Yorkies and all other animals deserve the nurturing of a loving home environment.

Never think of the Yorkie as a timid little lap dog. Remember, the Yorkshire Terriers were bred to hunt. This should be your first clue that they can be very inquisitive and adventurous. Many times, if not watched closely, their desire for adventure can get them into trouble. It's important that you are with them at all times outdoors, and an enclosed area, if possible, is even better to fulfill their desire to investigate the world.

Yorkies can live as long as 15+ years depending on many factors such as health and care. Dog ownership is not to be taken lightly, it's a very long commitment. They should be thought of as family members, and treated as such, not a possession. They will give you many years of joy, love, and devotion in return.
